Parietal ERP: Expected vs. Unexpected
ODDBALL PARADIGM — Pz ELECTRODE — EVENT-RELATED POTENTIAL
In the oddball paradigm, rare deviant stimuli (~20%) are interspersed among frequent standard stimuli (~80%). The parietal P300 (P3b) is dramatically larger for unexpected targets — a hallmark of context updating in working memory.
